The working environment at BCM Hanby Wallace is both challenging and interesting. Our firm has evolved and expanded rapidly in recent years and this expansion has driven our requirement for highly motivated and talented people.

Recruitment Process

To support our expansion we are currently seeking candidates for our 2010/2011 trainee solicitor programme.

Our recruitment process is as follows:

1.        Submission of CV including completed application form before closing date of Friday 7th November to: Deirdre O’Donoghue, HR Manager, BCM Hanby Wallace or email: traineespotting@bcmhw.com.

2.         1st round interview

3.        2nd round interview for short listed candidates (to include a 10 / 15 minute PowerPoint presentation)

4.         Intake of trainees (2010 / 2011) should you be one of the successful candidates you will be guaranteed to receive excellent training and support during your training programme, and you will gain valuable experience in a broad range of legal areas. Training and Development

Successfully making the move from college to traineeship is a big step, so at BCM Hanby Wallace we have specific training and development programmes designed to make this move easier. We pride ourselves in ensuring that your time with us will be a challenging and rewarding experience.

Our training is provided on a rotation basis and you will have an opportunity to work and learn in the core areas of our practice over the two year training period, thus ensuring you get a broad range of experience in as many aspects of legal practice as possible.

You will be assigned to a partner in each of the departments in which you work over the course of your traineeship. You will also have the opportunity to gain direct, hands on experience working on client cases, under appropriate supervision and guidance. The partner assigned to you will meet with you on a regular basis to discuss your progress and there will be a formal review at the end of each rotation. This will ensure you receive the necessary support and training to enable you to gain as much experience as possible throughout the time you spend with us.

You will also be able to attend regular in-house training seminars to keep you up to date on key legal topics and
procedures. As well as enhancing your legal knowledge and experience we will also encourage you to work as part of a team. The team approach fosters our sense of continuous support and guidance at BCM Hanby Wallace and offers you the opportunity to reach your true potential and develop both at a professional and personal level.


Remuneration and other Benefits

We offer a competitive range of benefits throughout your traineeship:   

·          Salary rates above law society recommendations

·          Salary paid during ppc1 and ppc 11 courses in Blackhall place

·          All law society registration and course fees paid by the firm

·          Eligible to join Vhi group scheme and Firm pension scheme

Social Activities

The excellent working atmosphere at BCM Hanby Wallace is enhanced further through the sports and social activities organised on a regular basis by our sports & social committee. These events are a great opportunity to meet and get to know others in the firm.
